Dana describes herself as a perfectionist, but her and her best friend, Kim, were an open collaborative duo throughout her headshot session.
We were all checking our gut senses when going through her wardrobe and being completely honest about what was going to work and what wasn’t. I love that they weren’t afraid to speak their opinions, because we ended up with some pretty stellar shots.
First, Dana is STUNNING. And she’s so sweet and worked so well through any nerves that came up along the way (they’re bound to—for everyone).
Second, I always try to create a space that makes my clients feel the most comfortable. And for Dana, that included playing “This Is Me” from The Greatest Showman soundtrack on repeat. I applaud her for not being afraid to ask for it more than once!
If you’re thinking about headshots, think about your “one song” that really gets you going, and have that prepared to help you bring out your most natural self—even if you have to play it a couple times through.
